対面オアシスカフェ再始動！インドを語る留学生 Introduction to the Largest Democracy in the World India: Country that we must know better and more

7月4日(木)12時15分から、全学講義棟1号館2階202講義室にて、２年半ぶりに対面による国際交流イベント?オアシスカフェ?セミナーが開催され、今回は理工学研究科博士前期課程に所属するラーフル?バーティさんが近年世界経済の台風の目となっているインド共和国を新しい視点から紹介しました。特に、歴史上インドの発展に寄与したといえる地理的な特徴や、観光資源の豊富さ、さらには現代グローバル社会を象徴する、民族、言語、宗教における「多様性」についての解説に加え、世界経済の資産ともいえる人、そして天然資源の豊富さなど、これからのインドの発展を加速させるであろう様々な社会的要因についての紹介がありました。

今回のオアシスカフェは、地域との交流の中で培った日本の文化や伝統を基に、アメリカオハイオ州ブラフトン高校、インドコルカタ市スシラビルラ高校、オーストラリアＮＳＷマッコーリー大学などとの国際交流を行っている県立小川高校から２名の先生方(山田 翔一郎教諭、高橋 一路教諭)に加え、この夏にインドへ海外研修に参加する高校生も参加しました。カフェセミナー終了後は参加した学生も含め、今後の交流等について意見交換が行われました。

On Thursday, July 4th at 12:15, an international exchange event, Oasis Cafe Seminar, was held in Lecture Room 202 on the 2nd floor of Lecture Building 1 at the university, marking its first in-person gathering in two and a half years. This time, the seminar featured Rahul Bharti, an MA candidate in the School of Science and Engineering, who provided a new perspective on the Republic of India, which has recently been a focal point in the global economy's landscape of change. Particularly, the presentation covered geographical features that historically contributed to India's development, its abundant tourism resources, and an explanation of its "diversity" in ethnicity, language, and religion, symbolizing recent trends of global society. Additionally, Bharti introduced various societal factors, such as the rich human capital and abundant natural resources that are assets to the world economy, which are expected to accelerate India's future development.

The Oasis Cafe, hosted during this event, was attended by two teachers from Ogawa Prefectural High School.  This particular high school has cultivated Japanese culture and traditions through international exchanges with Ohio's Bluffton High School, India's Sushila Birla High School in Kolkata, and Macquarie University in NSW, Australia. Also participating was a student who will be joining overseas training in India this summer. Following the Cafe Seminar, there was an exchange of opinions regarding future exchanges and activities involving participating students, including those who attended the seminar completion.
